The process and medium of delivery of officially sanctioned internally generated knowledge or information to the recipients other than members of the Institute.
An officially sanctioned community service by organized groups of the Institute staff using already known technology services, products or knowledge.

5.0 PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Chancellor shall be responsible for all matters pertaining to Outreach.
6.1 The need for outreach / extension shall be identified and a request made to the Chancellor’s office.
6.2 The Chancellor shall convene the outreach/ extension committee meeting if needed.
6.3 The committee shall plan and schedule outreach /extension activities.
6.4 The appointed committee chair shall seek approval from the Canceler for the outreach/extension activities.
6.5 The appointed committee chair shall prepare an implementation plan for every activity approved.
6.6 The committee shall implement the plan
6.7 The appointed committee chair shall prepare and forward a report to Chancellor.
